Pack your snow boots, not your safari hat: Sony's first poster for Jumanji: Open World stacks Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart on top of each other, with ostriches crowding in from either side, Filmofilia reports. The setting? A snowy city street dressed for Christmas.

What's on the poster
Johnson's Smolder Bravestone sits at the top, with Gillan below him, Black beneath her in a safari hat and Hart in the lower foreground, Filmofilia describes. Snow, Christmas greenery and warm sunlight make it "recognizably festive rather than jungle-bound," with the gold title and Christmas release line underneath, per Filmofilia.
Honestly, those ostriches photobombing the whole squad? Iconic.

The twist: no jungle this time
Here's the big swing. "Our heroes have escaped the perilous jungles of Jumanji before, but this time Jumanji breaks free of its console, unleashing its chaos into our world," Sony's synopsis says. Sony also calls it "the hilarious final installment of the globally beloved action-adventure trilogy."
Filmofilia points out the poster gives that premise "an immediately readable image, rather than evidence of a particular scene," and that "final installment" is narrower than closing off every possible future Jumanji adaptation.

Who's back, and who's new
Jake Kasdan directs and wrote the film with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, per Sony. Sony's cast list also includes Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser'Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito.
New faces include Brittany O'Grady, Burn Gorman, Dan Hildebrand and Jack Jewkes, Filmofilia reports, while returning performers also include Bebe Neuwirth, Lamorne Morris, Marin Hinkle, Awkwafina and Rhys Darby.

Background: the road to one final game
Johnson's Dr. Smolder Bravestone leads the poster, followed by Gillan's Ruby Roundhouse, Black's Professor Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon and Hart's Franklin "Mouse" Finbar, MovieWeb reports. The outlet calls it the fourth and final movie in the Jumanji franchise, which began with the 1995 original, and says the earlier films' box office has already crossed $2 billion worldwide.
According to MovieWeb, the plot goes back to much of the original movie's premise: after a repairman played by Lamorne Morris messes with the game cartridge, animals spill into the real world, and Bravestone's team comes along with them. That finally puts the avatars face to face with the kids who played them in the last two movies.
The poster is the first big update since the first trailer arrived in July, Bleeding Cool notes. Like the two earlier hits in this run, the new film is opening in December, right in the middle of a crowded holiday box office, per Bleeding Cool.
