Most stars would need a week to recover from headlining Hollywood's glossiest night of the year. Taylor Swift needed less than 24 hours before she was cheering in a football suite halfway across the country.

On Saturday, October 17, Swift closed the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles with a four-song set that Variety called her first full-band performance since the Eras Tour. On Sunday, October 18, she was at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City for the Chiefs' game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Billboard reported.
The live debut fans waited a year for
The biggest headline from the gala: Swift sang "The Fate of Ophelia" live for the very first time. Variety noted that the smash single was released on October 3, 2025, just over a year ago, and that the gala performance was its first-ever live rendition.
Billboard added that until this weekend, fans had not seen her perform "Ophelia" or any track from The Life of a Showgirl live. One fan account's clip of the moment spread quickly on X, Variety reported.
She also sang "I Knew It, I Knew You", her original song from Pixar's Toy Story 5. Variety said she had performed it before, at the film's premiere, at the Grammy Museum and at a private showcase, but this was her first time singing it live with a full band. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she is campaigning for the song in the best original song race at the Oscars.

To round out the set, she went back to two classics. Variety reported that she opened with "Blank Space" and closed with "Love Story".
"Dancing is absolutely allowed"
A black-tie room full of movie stars is not exactly a stadium crowd, but Swift won it over anyway. Wearing a Ralph Lauren gown for the performance, she invited the audience to dance, Variety reported, telling the room: "Dancing is absolutely allowed. It's not mandatory, but it's more fun."
Her introduction was just as grand. Conan O'Brien, her fellow member of the Toy Story 5 team, brought her on stage by calling it "an insane, unprecedented honor to introduce a cherished member of our little 'Toy Story 5' family," adding: "She's John, Paul, George and Ringo all in one," according to Variety.

The band included familiar faces for longtime fans, along with a horn section that featured two saxophonists. Variety quoted guitarist Paul Sidoti, who wrote on Instagram that it was "great to be playing music with my onstage partner of 19 years for the first time since The Eras Tour."
Earlier in the evening, Swift walked the carpet in a pale blue Dior gown, Variety reported. The Hollywood Reporter noted that she arrived midway through the carpet rather than last, and was spotted catching up with Dakota and Elle Fanning, and staying close to friends Sabrina Carpenter and Cara Delevingne inside.
A night for a good cause
The gala, presented in partnership with Rolex, raised more than $14 million for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The evening also honored Charlize Theron with the Icon Award, Colman Domingo with the Vantage Award and John Carpenter with the Luminary Award.
Next stop: Kansas City
Then it was straight back to Chiefs Kingdom. Billboard reported that Swift watched Sunday's game from a suite at Arrowhead with pals Caitlin Clark and Este Haim. Travis Kelce's mom, Donna Kelce, was also there, and Swift was seen giving her a hug.

She swapped couture for game-day red. Billboard described her outfit as a bright red Louis Vuitton turtleneck bodysuit with black bottoms and her signature red lip.
The Chiefs had plenty to celebrate. Local station KMBC reported that Swift was there to support her husband, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and noted that Clark grew up a Chiefs fan. The undefeated Chiefs beat the Chargers 22-6 to move to 5-0, AP News reported.
Chart queen, again
The weekend also came with chart news. Billboard reported that The Life of a Showgirl has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week, after Swift added four new bonus tracks, "Patient Zero", "Pink Clouding", "Cleveland!" and "Babylon", to a deluxe edition released in late September. According to Billboard, the album now has 15 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1.
Variety also noted that "The Fate of Ophelia" is expected to be a leading contender at the 2027 Grammys, where first-round ballots have just gone out to voters.
One live debut in Los Angeles, one stadium suite in Kansas City and a fresh return to the top of the charts. For Taylor Swift, that is just a weekend.
