Who Is Park Hye-yeon? The Announcer Who Matched With Kim Seung-soo on 'My Little Old Boy'

Korean TV fans, you were screaming at this one, and so were we. On Sunday night's My Little Old Boy, a freelance announcer named Park Hye-yeon got picked by both bachelors, made her choice and won over two moms. Now everyone wants to know who she is. Here's what we know, and what we don't, so far.

Who is Park Hye-yeon?

Park Hye-yeon works as a freelance announcer and actress, according to Hankook Ilbo. Hankook Ilbo, Newsis and bnt News all report she was born in 1987.

She is not a long-time cast member. Park appeared as one of the women on a group blind date that the SBS variety show My Little Old Boy (Miun Uri Saekki) set up for actors Kim Seung-soo and Song Jong-ho, with their mothers taking part too, bnt News reports. The final results aired on October 18.

The twist nobody saw coming

On the show, the two men went on dates with Park and a second woman, Min Ji-su, then handed a rose to the person they liked, Hankook Ilbo reports.

Kim Seung-soo gave his rose to Park. "She seems like someone I could do lots of things with, and when we talked even briefly, we really connected, so I wanted to get to know her more," he said, according to Newsis.

Then came the surprise. Min Ji-su gave her rose to Song Jong-ho, but Song, who had picked Min earlier, chose Park in the final round, bnt News reports. "I'm sorry. I'll choose Park Hye-yeon," he said, according to Hankook Ilbo.

So it was all down to Park. "I'm so grateful for this time, and you're both so wonderful that I hope you'll understand whichever choice I make," she said, per Hankook Ilbo, before choosing Kim Seung-soo. Newsis reports she said they had found common ground in their short time together.

Host Seo Jang-hoon couldn't believe it. "When she talked about common ground, I thought it was Song Jong-ho. Today's biggest twist is Kim Seung-soo," he said, according to Newsis.

Then the moms had their say

There was one last hurdle. Under the show's rules, the match only counted if both mothers agreed, Newsis and bnt News report.

Kim Seung-soo's mother ran over smiling the moment she saw Park, Newsis reports. Park's mother had liked Song Jong-ho from the start, so Kim shouted, "Please, please come out. I'm asking you." She did, and she gave her approval too, according to Newsis.

Kim's mom was clearly a fan. She said Park was so warm and attentive that she wondered if Park had feelings for her son, and that she had told him Park was the better match, Newsis reports.

During the stay, the pair also talked about dream honeymoon spots, bnt News reports. Park picked Croatia, Kim said Tanzania, and Park offered, "If you want to travel, I'll plan the trip for you."

So, are they dating?

Not officially. The two exchanged phone numbers after filming, Seo Jang-hoon said on the show, according to bnt News and Hankook Ilbo. "I really hope this works out," he added, per Hankook Ilbo.

But bnt News is clear that whether they are actually dating has not been confirmed. For now, they are the show's final couple, and fans will have to wait and see.

Who is Kim Seung-soo?

Kim Seung-soo debuted in 1997 as part of MBC's 26th class of open-recruitment actors, Hankook Ilbo reports. My Little Old Boy viewers know him well: in 2024, he told Yang Jung-a, his friend of more than 20 years, on the show that he wanted to become more than friends, but she chose to keep their friendship, bnt News reports.
