What police said
Louisiana State Police confirmed to People that authorities were called to a minor crash involving Blanchard in Terrebonne Parish. The collision was between Blanchard and a man whose identity has not been made public, and it resulted in minor property damage, People reports.
In a statement to Tyla, the agency said it had "investigated a non-injury minor damage crash that occurred in Terrebonne Parish on October 17 involving Gypsy-Rose Blanchard." It added: "No arrests were made as a result of the crash."
People reports that TMZ was first to report the news. Nine.com.au reports the crash happened in Houma.
What we don't know yet
Police have not publicly said what caused the crash. Tyla, citing TMZ, reports that Blanchard was at an intersection when she was temporarily blinded by the sun. That detail has not been confirmed by police.
The story first surfaced on Facebook, where a user posted about what People describes as the alleged crash. Tyla reports that Blanchard replied in the comments, explaining she had been at a salon getting her extensions taken out ahead of a funeral, and signed off: "Again have a blessed day."
A painful few weeks
The crash came just weeks after a devastating loss. Ken Urker, Blanchard's former fiancé and the father of her daughter, Aurora, died on October 1, which was his 34th birthday, according to People and Nine.com.au.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed that deputies were called to a home in Raceland and that Urker was found dead when they arrived, People reports. Nine.com.au reports that authorities said they were continuing the death investigation but had found no evidence of foul play. His cause of death has not been officially announced, Tyla reports.
Blanchard shared a few loving words about him at the time. "Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved," she said in a statement, as quoted by Nine.com.au and Tyla.
The pair welcomed Aurora in December 2024, People reports.
Her tribute to Urker was full of love. "He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase," she said in her statement, as quoted by Tyla. On October 2, she also posted on Instagram: "You will always be my greatest love story. You will be remembered and loved forever."
Most of all, she spoke about their daughter. Urker loved their child, she wrote, adding, "She is a beautiful reflection of his enduring spirit, and through her, a part of him will always remain with us." She promised: "I will make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond what strangers on the internet chose to say about him," per Tyla.
Urker's family has been grieving too. People reports that his sister, Autumn, went live on TikTok on October 1 to confirm his death, and said his last words to her were, "I love you."
Sending her strength
For now, the good news is the most important news: no one was injured, and the police say it was a minor crash. With so much on her plate, we hope Blanchard and her little girl are getting all the love and support they need. We'll update this story if police share anything more.
