Tina Michelle O'Brien was born on August 7, 1983, in Rusholme, Manchester, according to Wikipedia. She did gymnastics until she was 10, then chose acting. Early roles included Children's Ward, The Cops and Clocking Off.
At 16 she joined Coronation Street in October 1999, taking over the role of Sarah Platt. Sarah's pregnancy storyline won Best Storyline at the British Soap Awards, and she won Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards and the TV Quick Awards. She played Sarah until 2008 and returned on March 30, 2015.
After leaving, she played Cinderella in panto at the Manchester Opera House and starred in ITV's Blue Murder.
